ROBOT OF YOUR OWN LIFE
In a loop of your memory. You are losing touch with the world and the people around you. In a haze, while experiencing flat emotions. You are frustrated because you are losing touch with reality and time. Frustrated, because you are not able to change. Dementia. My grandfather, who is in the early stage of dementia, is experiencing all those changes in his life. ‘You see the Alzheimer in his eyes’, is what my grandmother said to me. She is losing grip on him as he is losing grip on his own life. He is lost. Isn’t this what digitalization does to us human beings? Losing touch, losing physical and emotional connections. Frustrated, because you are not able to escape this loop of flattened emotions expressed with likes and emojis, digital contacts, and superficial perspectives of perfection. Look at this photo series and reflect on the similarities in your own life. ‘Dementia is in all of us now: We are robots of our own live’
